Summary

Join us for an incredible opportunity to assist in leading our Collection Sales team as our Director of Sales at the Grand Hyatt Seattle! Our Director of Sales will support “A Seattle Collection”, a multi-property cluster comprised of Grand Hyatt Seattle, Hyatt at Olive 8 and Hyatt Regency Seattle.

The Director of Sales at the Grand Hyatt Seattle is an experienced senior level hotel sales leadership role that reports directly to the hotel General Manager, working alongside A Seattle Collection's (Grand Hyatt Seattle, Hyatt at Olive 8 and Hyatt Regency Seattle) Sales & Leadership teams. The Director of Sales will have focused oversight of the Sales and Marketing operation of the hotel. The DOS has responsibility alongside the ADOSM of the Sales and Marketing Budget/P&L, revenue forecasting, advertising, marketing, developing and writing business plans, and ownership meetings. The DOS is responsible for the mentorship of sales managers, trainees, interns, and administrative staff in their collective focus toward the Grand Hyatt Seattle. Additional responsibilities include recruitment and hiring of sales staff, training, managing and coaching sales managers in their selling process in order to meet company goals and maximize hotel revenues. Must be proficient in general computer knowledge and able to train and monitor both the group and transient contractual agreement process, quoting rates, sending referrals, setting traces, and the management of retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts. Communication and organizational skills are of the utmost importance.

The salary range for this position is $128,200 to $198,700. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications, and education.

This position is eligible for the corporate Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) as well as the Leadership Committee's Incentive Compensation Plan (IC). Plan's are based on goals set by the corporate and hotel teams, and achievement will be measured following hotel and corporate guidelines.

Qualifications

  • 6 years or more of progressive hotel Sales experience (typically with Hyatt)
  • Past Business Travel experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Demonstrated history of success
  • Results driven, energetic, and focused
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
  • Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
